Description

The Goldwater Scholarship is for exceptional undergraduate students who intend to pursue research careers (Ph.D.) in science, mathematics, or engineering. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 annually for tuition, fees, books, and room and board (after all other funding has been calculated). The characteristics the Foundation seeks in a Goldwater Scholar include:Ìý

  • strong commitment to a research career in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering,Ìý
  • effective display of intellectual intensity in the sciences, mathematics and engineering, and
  • potential for a significant future contribution to research in their chosen field.Ìý
